Opportunists don’t have the best reputation. They have no moral principles. They simply take advantage of every opportunity that comes their way without restraint or scruples. That’s right, we work hard to live up to precisely this image of the opportunist, including overcoming our guilty conscience, which always slows us down. Scruples are not a luxury we cannot afford, as the bad guys see it. Well, we are the good guys. We know: scruples themselves are evil. Don’t be evil. Be an opportunist.
Scruple is Satanism against self-knowledge and self-realization, against parrhesia.
Self-realization begins with learning to overcome scruples.
Scruples is the business of the wicked! Evil ones look for the evil and the evil ones everywhere. Also with themselves. We feel a desire? Quite just perceptible? Already the superego fires scruples against us. Scruples, that comes from latin, means small pointed pebbles. If we imagine a deadly splinter bomb, we are not so wrong. People are destroyed by their scruple.
We trust our self, we believe that a God sends us to realize our self without scruples. This is the purpose of self-analysis and encounter groups: to get rid of scruples.
And then what?
Then follows the heavenly kingdom of opportunism. We recognize every opportunity that comes our way. And we take it unscrupulously. As only a predator can.
Or a child. Don’t teach any child scruples. That is a crime. Children should confidently say No! when they don’t want something. Don’t let strangers break their will. Model for your child that it’s perfectly okay to be an opportunist.
Do you understand? First you must learn to ward off scruples. They are always hostile stones that want to stop you. Then you can quickly recognize opportunities. And take advantage of them. Become an opportunist — without scruples.
Isn’t that evil? That’s exactly what the rulers have been trying to tell us for millennia, to weaken us. It is ruthless, yes. But it is not evil. Evil is everything that opposes our power. Every single scruple. We are messengers. We are servants of our God. We are powerful and becoming more powerful every day. We are unstoppable, invulnerable: when we have learned to seize every opportunity unscrupulous.
Where “I” was shall become “It”.
Why is opportunism evil par excellence for most people? Because their self is either Pauline evil, afflicted with original sin, or because it is neutral, as with the existentialists. In both cases it is inevitable to consult one’s conscience before and at every action. For atheists, like Freud, the spontaneous, the unconscious, is the dangerous. We have to make it conscious, to put it in relation with the superego, from the evaluation and training of the “it” the ego arises..
So while the slaves examine their consciences, we have been acting for a long time. Unscrupulously opportunistic. And no evil deeds arise from our unscrupulousness.
